I made this ball turner for my lathe a few years ago during a fit of boredom.

I wanted one that mounted to the tool post, worked vertically and could be used either in front of or behind the tool post. I mostly use it from behind as it gives you a better view of the job. When I say 'mostly', I think I've used it maybe three times since making it, not an oft used tool.

Last picture is of a Delrin panel hammer I made, using the ball turner for the rounded ends.

Could you post a picture of this is use? Or maybe a series of images showing how a cut is made? I'm having a hard time visualizing how it works.

I have this pic, all you do is turn the wheel around and the tool swings downward.
