Balljoint / Bushing sleeve needed.

I need a sleeve a bit larger than the largest of 3 that came with a HF C-clamp set years back (3 sleeves, 2 step adapters, 1 clamp.)

The sleeve that's too small is 2.745 i,d,.

The bushing I would like to work with (without using a grinder or chisel) is 2.8".

My local Ace has galvanized pipe up to 2", so that won't do it. A connector for two pipes is still too small I.d.

$82 for a BJP1-25B is one option, based on their measurements. I need to see if that will sit on the A-arm still.

Does OTC have an equivalent for the Super Duty adapter SO lists?

Any other "Plumbing aisle" options I am over looking?

Is this just for one job? Do you live near an advanced Auto? They'll rent you tools and if you return them within 90 days you get all of your money back. I did that for a bushing press once.

The snap on press opens wider, so there is a good chance the adapter wont work.
I have a selection of used bearing races I use as adapters with mine.

Not exactly true. There are some adaptors that are not in the large kit.

I think the one he wants is not.

Not sure what a HF tool looks like, but you would likely have to get something that you could adapt to that.

I have the SO set, and none of my other sets would work with it.

If it was in a pinch, I would cut the top off of a steel cup to work. I think a decent heavy wall tumbler could take the force but please don't sacrifice a yeti. Or maybe a camping cup?

I've used exhaust pipe to get the job done, usually the heavier gauge stuff they use in muffler shops.

I have the hf master kit. use it with both the ball joint press and my hydraulic press. works good, definantly needed it for doing the ball joints on my 95 ram 4x4

Do you have a metal supply place near you? Can go in and ask if they have a drop or scrap room that might have a chunk of pipe in the size you need. I have one were I used to live that I would buy sticks of angle or flats or tube from when I needed. They have a room of all sorts of drops that they charged me scrap price for by weight. Used to get a lot of neat stuff from them that I needed for dirt cheap.
