band saw and socket organizer question

I'm looking at a used Sears free standing band saw. It has 2 speed, about 1500 and 3000 RPM. The description says for wood, plastic, and non-ferrous metal. Is it becuase of the blade? Can I get a blade that can be used to cut ferrous metal like steel or SS? Or is it an absolute No No for some reason?

I also want to organize my craftsman sockets. Bought some Lowes socket trays, like these Hansen ones. However, they don't go up to size big enough. Like I have 21 and 22mm sockets, but the tray stops at 20mm. I think Hansen trays are the same way. how do your fix this? Not sure if there are trays that go up to larger sizes, or I just have to use something else. I really would like to get them organized. Maybe there is a thread for just that already, sorry if that's the case.

Thanks for your help.

Just so people don't get mad at me for not seaching. I did find a few of the tool box/socket pic threads, just haven't seen exactly what I need yet. Maybe it's not there, and I will have to use different trays for differnt sizes. I was just hoping there is something that will work well and make it neat.

Ferrous metal requires much lower speed.

Nothing to do with the blade. Everyting to do with the blade speed.
You need a much slower blade speed to cut anything thicker then thin sheet alum. due to the speed of the blade.
And the blade speed is non adjustable.
Thus... it is a wood saw, plastic saw and very light metal saw.
It is what it is.

Gotta go variable speed (and much lower than 1500) or "big-boy" Do-All if you want metal work in your future or heavily mod a very heavy duty AP band saw.

I suggest the portable metal band saw and locking pedestal set up. now that is golden for the cheap.

My $.02.

Hansens are a "get what ya get."

Buy the 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" and go all OCD and fill 'em up.

Outside of that there are a lot of options like lock rails, clip rails and make your own peg systems.

Tool storage is very personalized and bigger sized tool storeage requires creativity and compactness combined with efficiency.
