Recently purchased the Klutch benchtop metal cutting band saw. It uses a 56.5 x 1/2" blade. I will use it mostly for steel and sometimes aluminum. The blade it came with was okay but not great. What blade would give me the best performance and where to purchase?

Lenox is another good brand. They offer several types including, of course, bi-metal.

Olson, in my opinion, are FAR better than Lennox. The Lennox had a "bump" at the weld and both of the blades snapped after moderate use. The Olson runs smooth and still using it after about a year... their wood blades are great too

A lot of sellers buy blade material in bulk and weld it at home. It pays to buy your blades from a registered retailer, not Ebay or unknown seller. Lenox blades from Lenox do not bump.

Like ZM, I get my blades from bandsawbladesdirect. Order several at a time so you aren't down waiting on a replacement blade. Depending on what thicknesses you are cutting, you may need a couple of different tooth count blades too.
Same experience here, order several at a time. Very good response from this game company and easy to select and order.

The Lenox blades I bought DID bump at the crappy weld and both broke after a very short time at that same crappy weld...I bought a 2 pack from home depot. Don't know if they are a "registered retailer" or not but as a resut of my experience I will never buy them again...from anyone

It may be the retailer in which you purchased them from. I have purchased the Lennox Classic and Di-master bi-metal blades for over 10 years now from bandsawbladesdirect.com and have never had an issue with any of them "bumping" at the weld joint or anywhere else for that matter. I have not tried the Starrett blades but the Lennox have lasted longer than anything else I have ever used and just keep going on both my vertical and horizontal bandsaws.
