Does any one make a good bandfile/finger sander adapter that bolts on to a small angle grinder ?

If no such adapter exists, recommend a new one. Max capacity only need to be 1".

I have two Makita versions...1/4’ which I use a lot for cleaning up the inside of cut metal...and a 3/4” version that is not used as much. They are the individual tool type with adjustable angles for use...

As in a 1" wide belt? If so, that is beyond what the common bandfile units will handle.

Speaking of band files, does anyone recognize a short wide one? At a local surplus store, I saw a bin full of approx 3/4" wide x approx 10" long belts; if running between two wheels the center-to-center length would be maybe 3"-4".

At least four of the German power tool manufacturers, Fein, Flex, Suhner, Metabo, make electric bandfilers. Pferd likely offers one as well, but it’s Pferd power tools are usually just rebranded Suhner tools.
The main advantages to the German made band filers are;
All the German band filers would have interchangeable finger rollers so that different width belts can be used.
The German bandfilers are usually built off of an angle grinder/polisher right angle driver motor, like the Milwaukee design, so the filers are somewhat narrower than the Makita designs which have the motor perpendicular to the belt.

The main disadvantage to the German ones is cost.
The most affordable one is probably the Flex made one, and the price starts at around $400.
Other finger sizes are usually sold separately, and might cost $75-$150 a piece.
Flex seems to have recently “upgraded” their bandfile to a new model, although my guess is the upgrade is simply because the older model used a motor that has been discontinued, so the new version uses the slimmer newer motor design.
The other main issue might be that Flex seems to occasionally discontinue some of their less popular tools in the USA, even if they still sell the tools in Europe.
Things like sanding belts would still likely be available from abrasive suppliers, but getting accessories might be a pain.

It’s possible a couple of these models actually use the same finger roller units, I believe Suhner may have supplied these to Festool back in the day for their discontinued finger sander, but I’m not sure.

Dynabrade makes an electric bandfiler, and the Dynabrade looks like it might be made by Metabo, or with some of the same components as the Metabo.
The motor looks like one of the older less expensive Metabo grinder motors, but in a different color.
The fingers might be the same.
I’m not completely sure though.

i just cannot adjust the tracking on the milwaukee to keep the band on the unit

I've ordered 2 cheap bolt-on bandfile adapters for angle grinders. One was on eBay that came directly from China, and the other was from Amazon.de, although it is a chinese made product.

Both of them showed up with M12 spindle adapters, even though both listings specifically said they were 5/8-11. The one from Amazon.de didn't even look like the product picture.
