I guess I have to much time on my hands. My son, a buddy and I have been building a bar stool racer. Getting ready to send it off to the powder coater, and then final assembly. Should be pretty cool when finished.

P.S. Found a NOS kit for it, might be a good test for the wheelie bar.

Might want to add toe straps like on a bicycle to help keep you on the thing. Shallow ones...so you can escape and not stay attached when you wipe out.:bounce:

Looks cool... we built one years ago with a KX80 2 stroke engine, paddle shifters, the whole nine. It was stupid fast, and terrifying.

A couple more build pictures. I am powering it with a 6.5 hp clone engine. May build up the engine. Racer will be in the local High School theme. If it turns out as nice as I think and hope, may even car show it around to see what happens. Been a fun project, (good father/son project) but surprisingly a whole lot of work.

Very nice job. I built one very similar a few years back with a 5 horse motor. I finally gave up riding it because with a solid read axle you have to be on 3 wheels to turn around and it became clear that there was a painful crash in my future.

Look forward to seeing more pictures.

I am in the process of applying gussets and tread plate pieces on the racer. It will dress it up when it is powder coated. I have a little grinding and sanding to do and then it will get coated next week in semi gloss black. Also added a license plate holder on the wheelie bar.

Nearing the end of my bar stool racer project with my son. Frame, stool base, and gas tank are back from the powder coater and semi gloss black. Did some final assembly today. Got everthing put on and the engine on and working. Kids want everthing blacked out, so that's what were going for. Only thing not black with be the yellow jacket on the bar stool seat and the "Buzz" license plate. Last thing to do is finish up the disk brake, and put the nos kit on. Been a fun project but quite a bit of work and fabrication. My son is going to car show it locally this Spring and Summer will be interested to see what happens.

Nice. I've wanted to build one for years since I saw one at a Hot Rod show. It even pulled a small wagon made out of an old metal cooler.

I recently built one myself. Sold it for a hefty price, and I am in need of another barstool fix.

Finally finished the bar stool racer. Started Thanksgiving weekend and finished about 30 minutes before kick off on Superbowl Sunday! Now on to the next project. I find that at any given time I am always at least four or five projects behind.
