Here are a few items I noticed.
i thought that this set had come with a flimsy replacement wingnut but I see that the flimsy wingnut was included with the sets. FBB2F41A-30EB-498C-936B-ECA494DB11EF.png00B3B69A-1768-47A0-9ED0-5CC001A43E99.jpeg
Here is the large combo set that Tin Medic sent me a few years back.C707B4F5-7C6B-46CC-B5BF-B8F576E74CE2.jpeg

It looks like I need to change the style of DOE wrenches on my board.98346391-3219-46F6-A3CA-40654CE6414E.jpeg
It looks like the smooth DOE wrenches came with the board.557C52D9-E697-415B-B2EF-6970E7F597C9.jpeg
Hopefully I will have enough of that style to do the job.3287E064-78D5-4157-93F7-4D982629FFF8.jpeg

I have 3 different wrenches of those type. 2 bigger are 12 pt and the smallest 3/8- 5/16 is 6 point. >i have posted mine in this thread some posts back< They baffle me as I've only found the 3 I have in 2 years. All 3 are black oxide. If I am not mistaken they should be around 1920's? I constantly am searching for the other sizes to make a set.

Those definitely aren’t all that common, especially the 6 point examples. I looked very closely at the pictures in the ‘37 catalog and those are for sure not a match since they have raised panels.554D5259-261B-4433-A768-88E138DFFCDD.jpeg

Those wrenches are a total mystery. They don’t appear in any of the known catalogs including Alloy Artifacts references that they don’t make public. Judging by their appearance they are likely postwar and quite a few were unmarked, likely for contract sales to retailers. Here is my unmarked NOS set. It goes up to 1” but there were larger wrenches available in this style.

We now know that these wrench sets were shown in the 1958 catalog. I received an unused 5 wrench set today to go with the unused 6 wrench set above

This came in the mail today from an eBay seller. I had some larger and smaller sets but not this exact one. I was pleased with the condition of the roll as it only required a little cleaning.

Username sent the prewar 3/8” combo at the bottom in this picture. It was one I didn’t have. Now I’ll need to find a 7/16” example. 36A5F7C2-3276-4E87-91CB-930DFBC68FB5.jpeg
While I was going through the combo box I took pictures of the ones with the scoop box ends.98A0AC92-D8D6-4345-9B98-0F639A7B6636.jpeg
These were among the newest Barcalo combos made before the brand was discontinued by corporate takeovers. 1ECF00BB-6CBA-414B-8B2A-C513169E55CB.jpeg

I suspect that the etched logo raised-panel wrenches were the very latest. The etchings wear off with use. Many of mine are unreadable. Another victim of cost-cutting.

Lots of Barcalo in my collection. My fav would be the set in the center with the military tool roll.
Pic of Cat. # 28? I would call Mr. Barcalo. He's been renamed Don Barcalo in your honor!

I’m honored! I’ve looked at some of the military roll sets on eBay but they have always been kind of expensive. Hopefully I’ll stumble onto one at a local sale someday.

Here's a better shot of the tool roll with the Barcalo wrench set.

Can anyone ID the military code on the first picture? The company is Giller.

^ I have a full set, just not in a canvas (or vinyl) pouch. The "Giller" branded pliers have that funny curve on the bottom end.

Lot of companies were supplying that set to Uncle Sam... .I was fishing around in a box last night and pulled out a "Meteor" set that's a dead ringer for your Giller set there, except in a red vinyl roll-up.
There's got to be millions of those SAE ignition wrenches out there.

Here are a couple of larger combination wrenches with raised letters. These are the only ones like this in the collection.

I have both of those plus a 13/16. I'm looking for a Keystone #77 or 79. Maybe we could work some deal?

I found this 1-1/8” scoop combo at a Castro Valley estate sale yesterday. Although it had some chrome peel, it is now my largest one of these.

A recent find is this rather flat 6 1/4” long needle-nose pliers. The Barcalo stamp is in a small oval (see photo), while the back side has no markings. Nice knurling too.

Interesting 4" Barcalo. Anyone seen or have photos of other Barcalo with this style handle?

Fred Knox sent me quite a few Barcalo tools on Tuesday. Among them was three adjustable wrenches of various vintages. The oldest was the curved handle 8” example. I took it apart and added a spring to reduce the free play on the adjusting wheel. IMG_8749.jpegIMG_8748.jpegIMG_8747.jpeg
The next adjustable wrench was a 12” made in 1952 and sourced from the Plombpire, made in the Danielson design. I cleaned up the damage so it opened and closed fully. IMG_8739.jpegIMG_8740.jpeg
The third adjustable was probably made after Barcalo was purchased by Crescent Niagara. It just needed some cleanup and lubrIcation.IMG_8741.jpegIMG_8742.jpeg
They are now being stored in the adjustable section of the Barcalo shrine.IMG_8766.jpeg
