Hi All,
Been waiting to forever. I started my build last year. Broke ground in August. It's been way too long in the making. But, I will finally have some space to work in my cars that have been stuck in storage. One challenge I had was finding a reasonable building that my wife would be okay with sitting next to our house. The house is a barn conversion from the 1700's, so a metal or standard horizontal sided prefab was not our first choice. We spent a lot of time looking for what we wanted. Wound going with a company that builds beautiful post and beam building, but also stick construction. I got a building with the look we wanted. (Still not sure it's happening)
Got my building installed in Sept/Oct. Got the lift installed after that. Spent the winter doing insulating, sheet rock and T&G on the ceiling. I was dreading hoisting sheet rock up there even though it was more money. I couldn't be happier with the look.
Dreading doing all the mud and taping next.
I'm also trying to figure out what to do with floor. It's pristine at the moment. Epoxy is a little pricey. I plan on working on my 66 Mustang which will require some floor work. There will welding going on. Was thinking of just sealer. Pretty much talked myself out of any big box kit.
Any advice is welcome.
