First paragraph interesting, but I don't want a subscription to see the rest of the article. Any chance you can copy paste here?

Maybe improved bottom line by selling tools at USA made tools high prices that are now imported so share holders get a big return. It works for Stanley maybe they are all catching on.

Snap On has done everything possible to keep us going strong and by giving us great deals to pass on the the end user. In a slower economy a good deal is better than no DEALS at all.

mrshaun, can you give us your perspective; on the changes you have seen, things they have done to sell more tools, during the economic downturn? You have been in the biz long enough; I'm sure you can/could tell how they have been doing things differently! Inquiring minds wanna know! :)

Passing on deals? Have I been standing behind the door while this happened? Or is this something that doesn't hit the GJ talk?

anyone take advantage of the 99 $ deals?
instant rebates.
we try and stay on top of the new tool market and take the ideas from techs and dealers to come up with new tools.
Future dated orders: so we can plan out sales through out the year.
Franchise development training where we go back to the basics and also learn from other dealers.

Snap-on has had numerous deals on USA made hardline tools throughout this year that have been in the range of a 40% discount from list prices.

Buy a 1/4 44pc set get a 22pc 3/8 set for free.

Buy metric flank drive plus, get standard flank drive plus wrenches for free.

3/8 impact swivel sockets, buy the metric, get the standard for free.

Like Shaun also said. There are a lot of deals on the trucks right now. I have a whole tub full of $99 deals.

Also, Snap-on Credit is offering some awesome rebate promotions.

I have. I got an 8pc soft grip screwdriver set for $99, a flank drive plus metric wrench set 10mm-19mm for $99 and a 4pc plier/cutter/needle nose set for $99. Also talked my Snap On guy into sell me a long 1/2 drive ratchet (USA stamped) for $100, I thought they were great deals.....

Please note that not all dealers sign up to receive promos. The promos are sent and the dealers are charged for them leading many dealers to opt out of the promos. Several dealers can't afford the promo tools because many times they don't plan for the extra charge or cant handle it so they opt out. Its all based on who your dealer is and how involved they chose to be.
