Base board with metal liner walls?

Should I use a base board?

If so what is something good to use. I thought about composite decking, then putting metal base trim on top of that and then putting the wall liner panels above those two pieces.

I was thinking having a base board would be nice to sweep up against and more protection down below by the cement.

Thanks for any ideas.

Cheapest would likely be a PT 2x4 to rest the metal liner on top of. It is what I'm doing, but not with metal.

One of the advantages of steel walls is the ability to do hot work (grinding, welding, etc.) and have the flammable wall materials covered with metal.

Placing a wooden base at the floor to wall juncture pretty much defeats that advantage.

Why not simply install some bottom steel trim that was designed specifically for the metal panels? Menards stocks this.

I think I will just go with the metal bottom trim.....should it go all the way to the cement or leave a small space like installing drywall?

I'm using the stuff Roadster posted also.

I was thinking of putting a strip of sill sealer (foam) down, then the metal, just to keep it off the concrete a bit, but I haven't decided yet.

I asked on here quite awhile ago about my idea of using Hardi Board style concrete board on the lower 24" to 36" of my walls. I don't think I ever got any replies. I've been busy so I haven't gotten to do anything on the walls yet. I really hate how easy it is to end up with your white liner metal all beat up.

We used a treated board (1x6 or 2x6 depending n how thick your metal siding is) and then covered it with custom formed metal trim. I have a 10' brake so it was easy, and should be cheap at any sheet metal or commercial roofing contractor. I like the stock trim roadster suggested also, we just wanted the look of a taller baseboard/toe kick. I would caulk what you use to the cement floor to keep dirt and water out (if you wash the floor?).
