I am trying “clean up” my base area on one side of my garage. The right side was easy but the left has low block foundation wider than the wall.

I was tempted just to paint it and then glue a qtr round to the block to cover the gap.

Or had thought about adding wood base with a 90 degree wood cap covering the block completely.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Paint is easy....backer rod and self leveling caulk would fill that gap and improve the look without adding qtr round

Black paint works wonders. It ***** up the light and doesn't draw attention. We did it on our floor and it looks good.

Backer rod and some black Sikaflex self-leveling caulk. (they sell Sikaflex in the big box stores but black is hard to find and you will probably have to order it)

Mask the floor tile and the concrete block before the Sikaflex (or just remove the tile in that area). Tool the Sikaflex with the back of a large spoon. You can do it dry, with the spoon dipped in a little turpentine or with a little spray of windex onto the Sikaflex. Have lots of paper towels on hand to keep the spoon and your hands clean. Pull the tape as soon as you are done tooling it and it will self-level to a nice edge.

Paint the block black and it should look pretty nice.
