I need to build my wife an office in my basement. It gets occasional water with the washer overflow, typical basement ****. I want to either tile it, or raise it up a hair to use wood.

Are there any ways to frame out a floor, but have it raised only about 3/4" off the concrete floor? I know how to set some bricks in mortar, then set the wood on top, but that would raise it too much with the low ceiling. I can weld, but I was not sure if a steel sub-structure is really my only option besides tile directly on the floor itself.

Any basement specific ideas would be much appreciated. Her getting a new office means I get a new office. :)

Look into LVP flooring. Many grades are water/moisture tolerant and won't disintegrate. Many patterns including tile and fake wood. Many of the styles "click" together so easy installation. No loss of head height.

If it gets water, I wouldn't put down anything that would trap it. You're asking for mold and dampness.

Tile would make it easy to cleanup, but it will be cold
