Hi Everyone,
Im new to this board and in need of some help. I have a garage/basement that is 36 feet by 27 feet with 7 1/2 foot ceiling. I want to put in the flourscent lighting t8 bulb lights but dont know the formula to find out how many fixtures and bulbs I will need. Im not sure whether to use the 4 foot or the 8 foot fixtures and lights. Is there anyone who can tell me how to figure out exactly what I will need? Any help will be appreciated. thank you Paul :)

use 4 footers
easier to transport and store the bulbs

you may want to put a few up for a test to see of the liget distribiton and intensity is what you are looking for.

alos I would recomend that you put the lights in on 3-4 circuts in a staggered pattern. this way you can put one set of lights on to light all or half the area to just move around or all the lights on to really work

My basement shop is about 26x40 so close in size to yours.

I have 6, 4 foot, dual bulb, T8's spaced at 8' from each end wall and then one in the center. The basement is nice and bright. I did paint the walls white though.

It looks like a lighthouse out the basement windows at night.
