Have been pondering flooring options for my new 40x50 (Link here), in which I do a lot of mixed work but much of it "heavy" work that is hard on floors. Earth moving equipment repairs, machining, welding, etc. I've pondered VCT and topical coatings, but don't think they'll last for the most part. Worried about VCT and track loader; epoxy and welding; plastic garage tiles and machine tools. Always seems to be some incompatibility for me.

So the slab goes down next week, and I've come across some hydro/oleophobic sealers, that penetrate. The BASF product in the title penetrates to 0.20", which is ideal in that I won't scuff, scrape or wear it off easily. Ultimately I want to keep the dust down, be able to squeegee out water, and when I drop oil be able to clean it up without major staining.

Has anyone used this BASF product or other silane sealers? This was formerly called Hydrozo 100 Plus. How have they held up year to year? Would you do it again?

Hi, Ghostshield, which we carry, is a very similar penetrating sealer which many GJ people have used with great success. The only minor issue is that presently Ghostshield is not available for the next 4-6 weeks due to supply chain issues on one of the main ingredients.

Do some searching on Ghostshield on the Forum and you will find a lot of info about it. It's normally used for best results with their matching 4500 Densifier.

What Armorpoxy said.
I used ghostshield 4500 and the 8505 in a working farm shop. Does exactly what it said it would do.

I appreciate the suggestion, and have done some reading about Ghostshield. Were circumstances different I'd certainly be considering it more strongly for my application.

I'm well ahead of the 4-6 week timeline, and want to get this done prior to putting things into the shop. Also, US supply chain and Canada supply chain can be pretty different - I suspect the only Canadian distributor of this product would have an even longer lead time than the US suppliers.
