Basic but durable epoxy floor coating recommendations

I'm in the process of having a 24x32 garage built and I want to coat the floor before moving anything in. I realize the new concrete has to dry for at least 30 days before I even think of doing anything.

My question is... Can anyone recommend a durable, BASIC epoxy floor coating? I don't need it to have a mirror finish or colored flecks or metallic shimmers or checker boards or logos or patterns or monogrammed or....ENOUGH!

It's a garage floor FFS :D. I want it to do work and if I scratch/chip it, I want to brush on a repair and move on with life. I believe that you get what you pay for, so I don't mind spending good money if I'm getting a good product.

I have read through a lot of the epoxy floor resources in this forum already and would just like some first hand, long term accounts from people who have used an epoxy coating for work rather than show.

Thanks in advance!

If you want just a single color opaque epoxy floor, here is a standard flooring system:

Mechanically grind concrete to expose aggregate. ICRI 3-5 surface profile. It should feel like 80 grit sandpaper approximately.

Route and fill expansion joints using 100% solids epoxy joint filler. Grind or shave flush.

Using 100% solids epoxy, thin your prime coat by 25% with the appropriate solvent and apply at 200 square feet per gallon.

Scuff with swing buffer and 80 grit screens.

Using 100% solids epoxy apply your body coat at 80 square feet per gallon. Use a squeegee to spread and an 18" roller to roll North to South, then East to West.

Scuff with swing buffer and 80 grit screens.

Using an aliphatic polyurethane, polyurea, or polyaspartic, apply 2 thin colored coats at the square footage recommended by the manufacturer. Scuff in between coats. Same technique, N to S then E to W with your final stroke being a tip off.

If you want basic and durable you may consider our 2 component CFLCeramic system. Diamond grind the floor, apply 10mil of our BondTite 1101 100% solids primer followed with a 20mil coat of our LiquaTile 1143 CFLC. No clear coat, No muss, no fuss. You will not find a tougher epoxy system.

Hi, take a look at our one-part Polyurea SPGX. Its MUCH more durable than a home center type coating, but about half the price of an epoxy system. A single coat gives superb protection and it's very easy to apply .
