I have read a lot of threads on the subject of lighting and I am not an arm chair electrician or EE and so would just like a seasoned shop vet just give me some simple basic "if it was my shop build" advice on picking the lighting system. My shop has an interior dimension of 50'x56' with 16ft outside walls and a roof pitch of 5-12 so the peak of the open air roof will be ~27ft high. I am 51 years old and this is my first (and last I think) shop and want the shop well lighted. Money is becoming a problem as everything has crept up beyond my expectations, but I am not wanting to do the cheapest possible solution just for that reason. I have a $2500 allowance for inside lighting and 2 outside lights. There will be a finished bathroom and lounge room taking up 400 sqft, of floor space with 10ft. ceilings, but the top of the rooms will be used for climb up storage. Power is single phase 200amp 220V.
High bay? Type? number of fixtures, spacing and mounting suggestions would be most welcome. The plans to bid show 15 2x4 T8 fixtures.
