1.5" is requirement, but 2" is likely what I'm using. 3" would be ridiculous.
I'm saying the drain line from the washer should tie into a 3" building drain by itself, without anything else connected to it.
I haven't seen an 1 1/2" drain allowed on a washing machine for a long time, new machines dump a ton of water when they drain.
2" would be a safer bet.

Sure, but there's millions of houses with 1.5" and it's not like they are flooding left and right.

Have 4" main line

Million projects going on, but decided to push those off to get this down. Tired of living out of a few boxes and a shop that looks like a Hoarders episode since it's storing most of the stuff from my old house.

14ft ceiling. The apartment has an 8ft ceiling, 2x6 floor above, so 2nd story is about 5.5 feet. Ideally would be a 7.5ft ceiling to give at least 6 ft clearance, but don't plan on tearing that all out to lower. Will use it for light duty storage and I'll just have to stoop a bit. Least that's the current plan.
Now keep in mind the shop living is temporary, I intend to build a house in the next maybe 5-7 years ($$ dependent mostly)

Now I'm tearing down the bathroom section to redo this whole thing. It's currently 2 ceiling heights, bathroom I think is 8ft, and the hallway/boiler area is 7ft, maybe a bit taller.

If I made the bathroom ceiling 7ft from the slab, that would give me about 6.5ft upstairs, which wouldn't be horrible for a bedroom. I need to do a false floor in the bathroom, so looking at more like a 6.5ft ceiling.

Thoughts?

Looks like I'm doing an.angle shower. Kit from Home's Depot is around $500 where most everything else is 2-3+ times that.

The 1 piece isn't an option as I'd need to tear everything down, put it in, then reframe. Andreasen forbid if it cracks like my current one.
