I am using garage trac tiles over Advantech subfloor to finish an office portion of my shop. A small 3x8 bathroom with a toilet and laundry sink is in one corner. Can I extend the interlocking tiles into this bathroom? If so, should the toilet rest on the tiles or should the tiles be cut to fit around the base?? Thanks!

No problem using the tiles in the bathroom, but if you try to put tiles under the toilet you'll have to raise the drain. Probably easier to just cut the tiles to fit around the toilet.

I would use a non permeable ceramic tile for the toilet area unless you plan on lifting the interlocking tiles every so often to clean the overspray out from underneath. Could get down right rank in there.

Cutting tiles around anything round will never turn out perfect, and will be a water trap. I advise tiling up to the drain and setting the toilet on top of your tile for the perfect finish. You can get an extender to make up for the extra height.

I think if you put the toilet on top of the tiles in the exact position where it was going to be sitting, and then you used a very sharp cutting tool to cut around the toilet while it was sitting on the tiles, you would get a perfect fit, or at least an ALMOST perfect fit.Cutting tiles around anything round will never turn out perfect, and will be a water trap. Or get some PT wood and make a raised base for the toilet, lay the tile and put the board over to trace around. Allow you to pull up tiles for cleaning.
A double wax seal will save on messing with the flange.
The idea of a tile floor in the bathroom with maybe enough backer or mud job to make it level with your interlocking tile top makes a lot of sense.
Especially if you or others have trouble aiming.
