My wife and I decided to add a shower to our downstairs bathroom and upgraded our sink and floors. The problem now is we don't have any space to put our toothbrushes, hand soap, etc. I would love to hear some opinions on how to add more space around my sink, and possibly add some storage for the hand towels, TP, etc. Here is a picture of my pedestal sink84e65269aea617b76276bc9be8addf6d.jpg

We don't want to add the storage shelves they sell at target that go above the toilet either

The mirror above the sink hasn't been installed yet. Thanks for looking.

you could get some storage with a medicine cabinet, not for the towels, but other stuff.

We ended up going with a simple white mirror so the medicine cabinet is not an option. I was thinking of putting up a shelf just over the toilet for the soap and toothbrush holder.

Curious how others would address the problem.

I don't like the white melamine shelves sold at the box stores.

One thought is a white marble window ledge made into a shelf or a tempered glass shelf. I know you said you didn't like the ones sold to go with the sink but not really sure what they look like.

Can you build a small cabinet that hangs over the toilet?

My father did that years ago at thier old house. I have an old wooden kitchen cabinet that needs a coat of paint prior to hanging in my bathroom.

I asked my wife if she wanted to do something like that, but she wasn't a fan. My mom needs a sink in the back house too so I am gonna give her the Pedestal sink so she doesn't have to by one.

Tips on general cleaning marble flooring and backsplash? And sealant?

Since I plan to eventually get a girlfriend I been looking at ways to clean up my bathroom and add functional storage. I have a vanity sink so I will be adding in shelving down the sides for lots of TP, soaps etc. Changed out my towel rack to doubles and added in a second one.

Like my buddy said when I added in the second single rack and proud of it...,******* she's gonna take one for her body and one for her hair, you still don't get one for yourself!
