Hi Guys! (and Girls!)
Just wondering what is the most popular Brand out there in the real world.
I myself have had the pleasure of Porter Cable, DeWalt, Hitachi. The set that I liked the best was the Porter Cable, however the chargers are very picky about the temp of the battery. DeWalt Ni-Cd batteries seem to be the least picky. Hitachi Ni-MHs are a joke. Hitachi Li-Ions seem to be pretty good. This is my experience. I would like to hear from some of you guys, ok? Another question that I have is, does anyone have any experience with the New DeWalt Li-Ion Batts. I, as a CA Contractor, have really been enjoying the Cordless world. I grew up in the time when everything was corded! Thanks. Nailbender.

Personally, I am a fan of the Hitachi 18v Li batteries. I have had really good luck with them, and they have served their purpose well. When I am drilling holes through quarter inch steel, and can drill 20 or 30 before the battery is dead, I am a happy camper.

My uncle who is a professional cabinet maker, has gone thru a lot of cordless drills in his life. His favorite so far is a masterforce 19.2 volt with the Ni-Cd battery in it. He loves how powerful it is, how long the battery lasts, and how well its made (could be dropped without a problem). He will continue to buy more mosterforce cordless tools to replace his bosch, dewalt, and makita.

Menards sells masterforce in case you're wondering. I do not know where you are from but Menards is a midwest thing.

Personally I like Dewalt. Charge quick, last a long time. However........ My Dewalt stuff is packed up (still filling the new box I built) and I used my Porter Cable set for my box build. I was quite Impressed with how well it worked through the build. For the money it's tough to beat.

My sons who were stone cold DeWalt fans seen to moving away from DeWalt in Favor of Hatachi. I may follow suit because they use cordless stuff day in and day out and make a living with them.

The new mini series Hitathi's that are 10.8v 12v peak are lion and that is all I use now. I dont see how I ever used those big bulky cordless tools. The lion batties have a 10 year warrenty and they charge in 40 min. I have used my hitachi driver in a industrial environment for over 2-1/2 years now and it is a beast.

Thanks a bunch guys! I'm really impressed by all those that took the time to post a reply.
I recently purchased some more DeWalt stuff, as in, Impact Driver and Hammer Drill Set. Today Fastenal delivered a 1/2" Drive Impact Wrench! (nice folks, huh?!). So now I have lots and lots of DeWalt batteries. I have decided to upgrade my Hitachi batteries to all Li-Ions. Then I will start collecting Li-Ion batteries for the DeWalt side of my toy box. Maybe someday I will share some photo of my Tool Trailer. We just remodeled it and made more room, added a nice big Drawer Tool Box. It is really fun to work out of again.
Thanks to All.
