Does it have a circuit breaker on the output side that is tripped? It could also have a burned out diode or rectifier.

Could also be a faulty switch, a broken wire, or corrosion. You will have to open it up to truly determine why it is not working.

Go back to the transformer secondary and determine if you detect the expected AC voltage there. If you find that checks out OK, check the diodes in the rectifier.

From web pics it looks like a nice unit. But has GP said, you're probably going to have to take it apart and do some component testing.

You need to open it up and then plug it in and turn it on. See if you have 120v going into the transformer. If yes, Then see if you have any output from the transformer. It will output AC and then send it through a rectifier to make it DC.
If you have AC out of the transformer but no DC coming out of the rectifier then its bad and will need to be replaced.

The insides of a charger are pretty basic and if you know how to troubleshoot the electrical system of a car you should be able to figure it out.

Just be careful. 120v hurts much much more than 12v:shocking:

EDIT: If this charger has a circuit board inside check it over carefully looking for any burned spots or burned up components on the board.

nice unit, looks very heavy duty build.
they have a schematic at their website, this is doesn't look like, one of those units that have intelligent to it for self diagnostic. you will have to break out that multimeter and d some diagnostics. Looks like have 2 breakers , AC breaker and DC breaker. A timer and voltage selector for different winding of the heavy duty transformer, a diode, A fan (not tied to the AC breaker) , and A DC breaker. so that means the fan running won't tell anything other than your Plug at the wall works.

Ok I got the schematic printed out and understand what u guys are saying but what can I use to test the voltage? I have a dvom and a 12v test light but I don't think those can handle it

Alot of newer style consumer battery chargers will not energize the cables untill they sence some voltage on the leads.

This is a quote from a Solar 1040C charger manual

"This charger is equipped with Auto On-Off Technology.
After connecting to a 12 volt battery, the charger needs to
sense a minimum voltage condition to begin charging and
it will stop charging when it reaches the maximum voltage
condition, but it will continue to monitor the battery charge
level. The charger will "hum" as it monitors. If the battery
charge level drops, the charger will begin charging again."
