i've been thinking about buying a battery load tester and dont exactly know which one to buy. I dont know if this correct buy i heard that it needs to have half the number amps as cold cranking amps. For example a battery with 500cca needs to be tested with a 250a battery load tester, is this correct? what would happen if i used a 100a battery load tester on a 500cca battery, would the reading be accurate.

i was looking at a couple testers, i'm an aspiring apprentice.

The otc testers are rated for 130 amps however the tell you that for every 100 cca above a 500 cca battery add 0.1 vots to the display on the meter for every 100 cca below a 500 cca battery subtract 0.1 volts from the display. I use mine on 800 cca batteries with no problem !

i have the digital readout ( from HF) version of the OP's listings.

it's good for a "quicky" test even on our 950 CCA batteries.

also have a midtronics tester for an extended test

the cheapy works fine for non warranty battery problems
