Battery power tools

Few years ago my tools were stolen inc my snap on 1/2 and 3/8 battery gun and drill. As I was under insured I've had to replace with air tools until I've got the essentials built back up.

Whats everyone using? Milwalki, mac/dewalt snap on.

I'll be getting 1/2 impact first but will want drill and 3/8 and poss ratchets.

The consensus is Milwaukee Fuel.

If those are the only three/four you'll buy, IR makes the most powerful ratchet and everything else is comparable to Milwaukee.

That said, Milwaukee has brushless versions of all the tools you're considering (except the ratchet) which should last longer and maintain it's power better throughout the life of the tool, the impact and the drill go neck-in-neck w/ the IR out of the box.

DeWalt is catching up (slowly) though, and the Mac 1/2" gun they make is more powerful on paper than the others by 25 ft-lbs. Also not brushless though.

Right now I have the Snap-On cordless 3/8 and 1/2 drive impacts. Been working well for me for a while now. Milwaukee has some really good reviews, been recommended from so many people.

I know my next 2 purchases will be the milwaukee impacts.

My brother in law has been using a M12 3/8 impact daily for around 4 years and loves it (dealership mechanic). Most techs in his last dealership followed him and got one or an M18.
I've been using a borrowed M18 3/8 for a few weeks, and let me say I'm very impressed in it (and the Snap-on 3/8 18v another tech has). Stripping down a 12" chipper today and the M18 (not fuel) took out 3/8 bolts no sweat. Only needed the air impact for the cutter bolts which are 5/8 (bolt size, not head size).
I just (yesterday) bought an M18 fuel combo kit and now I need to add a 3/8 of my own.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been doing some price checking and I can get the m18 fuel for £325 plus vat looks like I'll be ordering it tomorrow
