I use a volt meter.

I have general guidelines that I keep in mind, like if a 3v coin battery gets below 2.8v I tend to replace it.

the cheap azz HF ones(sometimes free with a coupon)
has a battery tester mode
I keep one at my desk,just for that purpose.
It tests in mA not volts

A multimeter. It's just a matter of looking up the minimum and maximum voltage values to determine how much juice is left.

My wifes vibrating thing... if it vibrates good... batteries good. If it is slooooow… no good.

Lmao. Great diag. I would think testing batteries is sort of useless. 90% of the time they just need to be replaced. Put in new, throw away old.
You don't even want to here my opinion on car batteries...Lol
