Battery tester

Hey guys. What's a decent but not ridiculously expensive battery tester that's not a carbon pile tester?

I like my Ancel BA101. I've only used it to test battery condition, so far. It does report internal resistance, which can be an important figure if your battery's surface voltage is good but it won't crank a starter (high internal resistance indicates sulfation on the plates, and inability to pass higher amperage). It also claims to test alternator charging and starter cranking health, and general charging system health, but I have not used any of those features yet. Easy to use menu system.

That ANCEL BA101 looks like a nice little tester for not too much $$

Fox well BT705 around $120 on Amazon, often coupons available or on sale, which isn't too bad for a conductance type tester.
There are cheaper versions on Amazon but, I feel they only duplicate what a dvom does.

I have the SolarBA9. There is also a BA7 that was around a long time many people like too. Lots and lots of reviews on Amazon on these

I like a CA/CCA number to compare. They do Ripple test also and of course starter draw voltage reading

The Ancel BA101 now also looks good too especially for the price

You need a carbon pile tester to properly test batteries.

I think I want to go with the foxwell bt-705. Anybody have any reputable sellers besides Amazon? I see them range from $50, 100, 130.

The cheapest i found it was $111 on ebay from an independent seller to arrive thursday or friday next week. I bought on amazon for $121 it'll be here monday or tuesday. The Foxwell BT-705. Thanks for the recommendations!

I saw that but foxwelltech is different from foxwelltool. I just didn't know if I should trust it. I paid an extra $22. Oh well. Thanks though!
