A friend has a pair of these and I wonder if they have any other practical use? They came from Sandia Labs and were used for Helium?
We're getting on the grape earlier today.

scuba diving folks also use something similar to charge their air cylinders I think.

Nitrogen, helium, argon, SCUBA tanks are but a few uses. Really big high pressure compressors are also used for PET bottle blowing and drilling.

Paintball gun refills.

SCBA. Proper filtration is a must. Probably high dollar stuff.

Dialling back the pressure to use them for a shop compressor is mostly a waste of time due to the low output and unnecessary complexity.

They aren't cheap machines. Given the low hours they are probably worth a few bucks to someone who can use them.

I was shocked to see the one at work running 1000psi of oil pressure.
