I'm in need of some design help. I have tried searching and cant find info on this. I read the specs for a lift and most fall under the min bay size of 25 D x 15 W. How much space should you have? Are they saying that's enough room to put the lift in and actually use it? I want to have enough room to pull the engine out while on the lift. I also would like to be able to walk around the car while its on the lift, so there will need to be room beside the post and the wall. I know I could go over board with the bay size but I don't want to have wasted space.

Thanks for the help

Don't ask.
Will you be using a rolling engine lift or some type of overhead crane? What are you going to do with the engine after you get it out?
A rolling engine lift takes quite a bit of room to move around.

I will be using a cherry picker. Either rebuilding or swapping it out.
I know you can never have enough room but I want to be practical and not waste space.
