Just found this site a couple weeks ago... Some very cool builds and lots of ideas for me here..
I am building an attached garage on a lot that is on a 45 degree angle. An interesting build. I have so much depth at the front of the house that I had a basement installed. Great storage area! (10x25)
The garage is 25x28. Allot of "while we are at its" as well.
4 sets of stairs, an exposed curb around the driveway, a water feature outside the front door, and a new patio out the back. Also, an in-ground Rotary 2 post lift. (no posts to whack my Mustang doors on) I have aprox 200 pictures so far on http://cid-ec00e00fb38aae61.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.res/ec00e00fb38aae61!760?ct=photos
I have allot yet to do, and am looking at cabinets and such now.I hope you enjoy!

This is a really nice build. I'm jealous.

Are you building this yourself or have you secured a builder to construct it? Regardless, get yourself a quality garage door system. Let me know if you would like some free consulting.

Good luck with your build and thanks for sharing!

The location is in Departure Bay, Nanaimo BC on Vancouver Island...
We were referred by the city and others to one particular builder to do this project. An excellent choice as there have been Zero problems and allot of common sense tradesmen.
We were able to get a great deal on their services as they need to keep their people through the slow down period in this town. (They are busy now, though)
Doors and windows will be in this week coming, as well as electrical setup and siding. I will post more pictures as they go.
Here is my concours 69 Mustang its for...

Looking good, Ron. You certainly picked the right time to build with the weather the area's been having. Looks like a great view from your place as well.

I'm just south of you in Duncan, and my builds seemed to attract nothing but rain.

I really like the texture on the sidewalk. How did they do that?

Excellent. And thanks for the photos. I'm a few weeks away from doing an 80 foot long retaining wall and foundation. So it'll be interesting to look at the work you've done. I've got a lot to learn in the next few weeks, and this will help.

That big rock was positioned in a good spot to be used as fill. They could pick it up but couldn't swing it sideways, so it stayed.
The carpenters have another 1-2 days left, finishing the Hardi-board and soffits. New gutters all the way around on Monday. I should be finished painting the hardi board by the end of the week, taking a break to go fishing in Tofino on Tuesday, and I have to try to fit some work at work in all this somewhere too...
The weather for this build has been fantastic, with MAYBE a week of it the whole time.
I will be seeing the rest of the driveway poured this week, and then the masonry guy will be here after that to finish the front. Should be a classy mancave.
I am waiting to drywall, till I get my car in on the lift and figure where the roof lighting should be for best light. Also need to put in some photo-eyes for the garage door, so she cant go up if the car is up all the way, in case the car is in the way of the door.

Pretty much done with this now. Car is home and the landscaping is next on the list. Starting to look for some garage art.
