Hello everyone, first post here, been lurking for a while.Picked up a couple of nice Beachs yesterday, aside from the sawdust there in perfect shape.I tried to remove a few of the stickers and they seem baked on. Razor tried to take paint and all,WD-40 made a sticky mess, any ideas? Heat gun maybe? Thanks

Nice box. I have the exact same top chest. Mine is early 80's vintage (bought new at K-mart).

I agree with Deafautotech. A heat gun is the way to go. I have removed several this way. Sometimes they will also just pull off if you can get them started.

if you can get a corner of the decal lifted try 3M brand adhesive remover, it's citrus based and washes away with water, It has worked great on everything I have tried it on.

TMy old Gray is finally getting a bottom, its been sitting on a Singer sewing machine base for 4 years, although I think I'll pull the drawers and give her a paint job first

That Gray box would be a great refurbishment project. Keep us posted on how you make out.

I agree use a heat gun to get the sticker soft enough to peel off then use WD-40 or Goo Gone adhesive remover to clean off the sticker residue.

If it's the wife's hair dryer you are in trouble. They burn out quite easily. Guess how I know?
Heat gun is better.
Just be careful to warm the stickers, too much heat and you'll get the paint as well - I KNOW this also...

I think hair dryer is safer, you can overheat with the heat gun. I use an orange solvent on the glue, but its a product I sell so I already have it in stock. I am getting an orange solvent in an aerosol spray that may also work. I'll let you know.
