Hi all, long time no post...

Anywho, I bought this about 6 months back and finally collected it when I picked up a new truck about 6 weeks ago...

It's in a bit of a state, but I only paid £16/$23 for it.

However I do need a new handle and lock for it, and in spite of emailing and facebooking Beach in my quest, I have yet to have any reply.

Anyone on here have any useful contacts?

They went bust recently I think which could be why you are having trouble getting a reply
I expect some of the Canadian members here may be able to help.
I have seen one Beach side cabinet over here, definitely a quality item.

Well s**t, that explains the lack of web presence for the last few months. I hope someone turns them around, but I can't see it happening again.

Ok well that being said, does anyone have a handle kicking about they'd consider selling?

Beach was bought out by Stanley years ago. Many Proto boxes to this day are direct lineage to Beach. At the same time, I think some part of Beach stayed around as a private label supplier to Gray. Gray dropped them. Then they reorganized and maybe built a new factory to reintroduce the Beach name. My guess from there, there was problems getting the product out and the bank note came due.

Well I haven't made a home for it yet Mr. Bodger, perhaps I could be persuaded to part with it as I would love it to find home atop a Beach roll cab.

Living in New Brunswick,Canada,Beach was the box I grew up with, i'll get some pics soon. I have the same box as my work box. I have another I picked up that has been abused & I'm sure I can get a handle from it for you. I have 3 of the 6 drawer boxes, one 2 drawer intermediate box,and 2 roll boxes.

The "5" drawer is in my garage at the house,I took the 6th drawer out to straighten the slides,it's at my old shop. The other box is in the barn.

Thanks for the info & pics Dalehsc, you certainly know how to look after them!
There's a tidy one of the 6 drawer ones at work that belongs to a the other mechanic, it's probably so tidy because he's so incredibly lazy that it doesn't see much work ;)

B29! The best, I have 2 in the shop. They will survive the apocalypse and this box proves it.

The stack is what I used early in my career,my dad gave me the top box when I started,I bought the bottom later, and a few years after, bought the large lower drawer, then bought the intermediate 2 drawer. The older 6 drawer is my dad's,it's probably 45 yrs old.

The 12 drawer is what I use now.

They are great boxes.

I have one too many Beaches! Don't use this one? Yes I'd ship!

Impossible.

Decided to take a family picture last night.

B29 and B89 Stack
B25 on the floor
B20 (blue) and the small 550
B213 on top of the workmate

I also have a 6-drawer crowntop Craftsman made by Beach and two B19's at my Mom's place. That second red box may or may not also be a Beach, I haven't been able to identify it so far...

Oh, and a small Beach cash box I use for my petty cash in my office at work ;)

I am actively searching for a B28 2-drawer intermediate box for my stack, though I have yet to lay eyes on one so it may be a while before I can pick one up.

Hi,
I’m looking for a clean and original condition B27 roller cabinet and have come across a few that have been cleaned and ‘restored.’ Just wondering if the handle on the side of the cabinet (used for pushing the cabinet) is mounted with hex head bolts or heavy duty rivets matching the drawers. Any photos of original condition B29 handles would be helpful.
Thanks

Welcome! Those handles were spot welded on.

This is the best I have on file, can do better next time in the garage, if you want.

B-27 rollers had bolted on handles, 5/16 coarse bolts, I believe.

Craftsman from Simpson-Sears were also made by Beach. The old round corner Beachs were one of the toughest boxes ever made. I remember one an old millwright had, he must gotten when he started. Most boxes only lasted about 4 years in the mill. The company would only pay for replacement at 8 years, so I had a couple replacements prorated.

The B97's had a bolt on handle. The bolts are not original in the pics, other B97 I have handle is missing completely.
