So how far away from the corner would you mount the heater? So basically if just blows from corner to corner as i read the manual if its mounted on a 45.

A few vent questions. Is the concentric kit worth the cost? I could do a single vent a whole lot cheaper and then do a pvc intake into the attic and use clean attic air. Would that be a decent option? ceiling is insulated and I have ridge vent.

On my beacon morris I installed it in the corner ( 30 x 32 garage) on a 45 degree angle. I think it was out about 4 or 5 feet from each side. I do not know how to advise you on the concentric vent as I ran my vent through the roof.

I think you have to use an approved vent per the installation manual.

A homemade inlet drawing fresh air from the attic wouldn't meet that requirement and thus wouldn't be to code.

The manual specifies an approved concentric vent kit or room air with no modifications or ducting if I recall correctly.

You just need to use an approved vent for the exhaust, there is no code for the combustion air. I used the approved vent for the exhaust and then 4" galv for the intake but PVC would work fine. I felt the concentric vent was way too much money for what you got.

I cut a piece of cardboard from the box and taped it to the ceiling then moved it around to get a distance that looked right and to make sure the venting would miss a stud.

I was going to box as template as well. Just didnt know if there is a specific distance it needed to be away from the corner for proper air circulation.

Good to know about the intake not having a code. I do want to meet the code requirements for it.

Thanks for help I'm getting closer to finalizing my install but the snow storm we had last week sure didnt help.

Got it, If you have it out far enough for your connections you'll have plenty of room for air circulation along the sides and underneath. Be sure to leave enough room on the left side for removing the service cover.

I think the Beacon Morris manual calls for a minimum clearance of 18" from the fan to a wall. I'm still in the process of mounting one in my garage.

You must use Class III stainless to vent out the wall. For intake air, drawing it from the attic is fine, with tin or PVC. Read the directions that come with the unit for mounting clearance.
