I bought a new Beacon Morris 75,000 BTU from Menards on sale in january of this year. I just now am ready to install it. I switched it over to LP and hooked it up to a 100 lb full lp bottle. I installed a new regulator on the bottle and new thermostat wiring and hooked it all up according to instruction. I have now tried a bunch of times to get it to start and it does nothing. I hear the ignitior sparking the exhaust blower but nothing it does this about three times in about 2 minutes then shut downs flashes the code that no gas present. I lost my receipt on it or it would be going back. I even emailed Beacon Morris on it with no replies. I don't feel a repair is in order on a brand new furnace that wont work and already got over 500.00 involved and still no heat. Any suggestions before i pull it down and junk it? I am think a big mistake here with this one.

Not getting fuel. I know mine has a little switch on it that it will shut the gas valve off, is your on? What I would do is look at the little things first, make sure all connections are plugged in especially the circuit board and gas valve connections. If everything was plugged in, the next thing I would try is taking my multimeter and checking for voltage going to the gas meter when the heater is asking for gas. If you have voltage when requested, gas up to the unit, then I would say you either have a blockage somewhere or bad gas valve. When you change over to LP, what is required? Is the new pieces clear of any foreign crud?
I'm still plumbing up to mine, is there a chance that some crud came loose in your LP line and blocked something?
You may not feel that a repair is necessary on a new unit, but stuff can happen, just like a repair may not be needed on a new car but stuff happens...
From what I have read, they're suppose to be a good unit.

I don't think it's the heater ,
Did you purge the line ? it takes a long time for the pilot line to purge air , so if you know for sure you have gas to the valve , keep trying , it's most likely just air .

They're not junk, I have two of 75k units and they work fine. I think you have an installation problem.
1) What is the gas pressure at the internal regulator?
2) When the unit attempts to light, can you hear the gas valve go "click!" as it opens?
3) I agree with mygarageone. Did you thoroughly purge the supply line?

LP pressure needs to be higher than NG which the heater came setup as. If you haven't adjusted the pressure up to 10" WC I think is it for LP then it may not light.

Yep , but if he has no manometer he's up the creek. The rule of thumb is turn the pressure screw 11 full turns for L.P gas
But it still has to be adjusted properly with a Monometer.

The fact that your only $500 into it says it all. Call a licensed gas technician to figure out your mistakes.
Post up some pics of the installation.
Yes I purged the lines and also set the pressure to what was req. for LP gas. I do hear the valve click and it acts like it wants to light but nothing. It runs its cycle for about 2 mins then shuts off. I have installed furnaces before in my other home that was on LP and never had this kind of troubles. I even got a restored old tractor that runs on lp here as well.
Yeah I thought so too on a good as a matter of fact this is the site i viewed first before I bought. I have all new stuff in the plumbing from the tank to the unit. I will purge some more and see. I got a 250 gallon tank ready to set on as I know once thing does decide to work 100 lb bottle wont last long.
Well I found the problem and it had nothing to do with my installation or any faulty parts from the unit. It was in the manufacturing of the unit at one time in its life.. I took the gas line off the unit and pull the short black pipe ****** off the valve that came from the factory to find the problem.
These was a piece of plastic stuck down in the ****** that looked to be part of the plastic cap that goes over the end of the ****** to protect the threads. I pulled that out put it all back together purged the air from the line and it FIRED right up.
I am a happy camper now and want to take time to thank everybody here that had useful information on solving the problem.

Sweet, it's always the simple stuff that comes to bite a guy in the rear. Oh I got mine going last night on natural gas. I think we will be happy with the unit.

I'm glad you resolved your problem epecially on your own.
Though the piece you found was in fact a result of "your" installation, it's little things like that that can get easily overlooked. I don't at all mean to sound harsh just reiterating details, details, details. Very importatnt on dealing with gasses.
