Just wanted to share what My dad and I worked on the last couple weeks. We were inspired by some of you guys on here. My brother acquired a bead roller , a Central Machinery type. Worked OK, but we wanted to power it electrically so it was easier to work the piece. We ended up using a garage door opener that had been kicking around in the basement for a long time. The benefits are that the motor is reversible , runs on 110v and runs at a slow speed. And it was basically free. Used a bicycle sprocket to gear it down even more. Added a household type on / off switch to change direction. Got a cheap $7 foot pedal off ebay. The stand is an old Ford Model A axle housing. Added a gusset to the roller to strengthen it. Since the pics were taken we made the base a little bigger and working on a new chain guard.
