Does anyone know if the Lisle 12980 and Astro 7824 are the same kit? They sure do look the same.

Unless something has changed recently the Lisle bearing driver tools are US made.

The lisle set should be made in USA unless it doesn't say so on the packaging anymore.

Lisle is made in US and they were the first to make these sets and Astro is an import copy same as others

I have the Lisle set, bought it a couple years ago and it doesn't say made in the US anywhere on that package.

As they said, the Lisle was made in the US. I'm not sure if that's still the case. The Astro seems to be a Chinese copy of it, as are many more kits out there.

many Lisle stuff has been out sourced.

from quick research, if you buy the kit with molded case, it's made in china and kit with clear plastic packing is made in USA.

You can't trust Lisle's packaging for country of origin. Sometimes Lisle drops the information because packaging or fasteners disqualify Made in U.S.A. and the company chooses to not market it as assembled or with foreign contents et cetera. Unless you contact Lisle directly, then you won't know whether just the packing is foreign for that version.

Zoro is not gospel, but everything I've ever bought from them matched the COO on the site.

The plastic case is made in china. The tools in it are identical to the 12600 set posted above. You can always tell the Lisle kits apart because the driver handle finish is dull zinc in appearance and stamped "Wear Safety Glasses". The aluminum discs occasionally have a casting line around the circumference as well.

You can't rely 100% on online stores like Zoro for COO information. If it is a tool that Lisle has been making for a very long time and it used to be made in USA, there's always the possibility that they may have forgotten to update the COO. The chances of some of their newer tool releases being made in China are higher.
