Friday I went with a friend to look at a couple of Hit & Miss engines, while we were there he mentioned he had some old drills for sale also. We looked and then left, the more we talked about them the more convinced we became that we needed to own them. Went back yesterday and picked them up.

Really like these- one's on my 'list'. Missed a chance to pick one up about 8 yrs ago and every once in a while I think on it & regret it (seller never returned numerous inquiries).

So now what are your plans for them. Do you leave that beautiful patina on them and just oil them up? Or do you "restore" them to like new condition? I guess you have a enough of them to do both. :D

Jim, I think I am going to pressure wash them and see what I have. I would like to keep 2 or 3 to display and will find homes for the rest.

Those are sweet.

I am right down the street, let me know if you need some help, and when you want to re-home one.

Have a great weekend,
Larry

Are these drills that would generally be run off a belt-drive setup?

Good to see you're out having fun in the May Phoenix sun.

I've never seen one like the one with the square table. I myself have a few, they are neat to see how they run. You did hit a home run!

EFI. Some these them did run off a line shaft but for the most part they were turned by hand. One of these does have a pulley that could have used a belt.

Very nice. How would you restore one of them? I mean, would you paint it, or what? Not sure what kind of finish would be appropriate?

MN4x4 here are a couple of pictures of what some have done. Usually I see them in either gloss black of semi-gloss black. But the colors sure make them pop.
