Ever since I bought my house, I have been disgusted by the 5 million rusty hooks hanging from my eave boards. A previous owner screwed all of these nasty little devices into the underside of the eaves to hang Christmas lights. I even found the Christmas lights bundled up and thrown in the gutter! I've wanted to remove these vile things since I bought the house but always shuddered at the thought of getting out there and unscrewing each and every one of them. Enter inspiration and ingenuity. In the spirit of MacGuyver, I looked around to see that I had a cordless drill, a plastic bag and a paint key. The picture below is what resulted. I basically hung the drill from the hook and hit reverse. Then I dropped the offending piece in the plastic bag. Doing it this way took me less than an hour to remove all the hooks. Some say necessity is the mother of invention. If that's the case, lethargy is it's indiscriminate father! :bounce:

I have done the same thing putting them in
I use an eylet hook, start them by hand and then run them in with the cordless

Lazy nonsense, just a great idea. You should submit it to popular mechanics.

Laziness has its purpose....

Clausewitz used it to his advantage:

Carl von Clausewitz, the great military strategist, sorted his officers into four groups based on their laziness and intelligence.

1. Dull-lazy officers could be ignored because they don’t do much and, therefore, don’t cause much damage.

2. He got rid of dull-energetic officers immediately because they could cause great damage in a hurry.

3. Smart-energetic officers were given staff roles because they produced a lot of positive operational results.

4. It was the smart-lazy group of officers who were promoted to senior positions because they found ways to leverage resources to the fullest.

It is called a church key because they use it to open beer bottles.
Before pop tops we would call the beer can openers the same thing.
