Bedliner-type material for floor?

Question: I'm looking into floor covering in the garage, either a RaceDeck type tile or one of the standard Urethane type coatings that so many manufacturers have out now. In addition to these, I was wondering if anyone has thought of or used a Linex/Rhino/Herculiner material on their garage floor. The product I am looking at specifically is U-Pol Raptor. It is Urethane based, so I think prep would be the same as for any of the mainstream floor coatings.

You guys are the experts, what do you think? I am definitely leaning towards the U-Pol. I have Linex in my Jeep tub and am a huge fan. The U-Pol has the best reviews of any of the DIY stuff; chemical resistant, basically chip proof, and as a DIY product it's easy to repair should you happen to gouge it. Is there any reason this wouldn't work?

Might be kind of expensive. U pol is going to run you about $280 a gallon

The U-Pol is about US $110/ 125 sq ft from the manufacturer, including spray gun. 4 kits for my need puts it at less than half price compared to RaceDeck.

I don't think they have any DIY products.

They don't, I was using Line-x as an example of the type of coating I am looking for.

I used this http://www.nonslipcoating.com/concrete.htm on a truck bed and 8 years later the overspray is still on my shop floor. Wasn't too expensive and color was decent. I used this http://www.harborfreight.com/texture-paint-spray-gun-66103.html to spray it. No problems.

Thank you!!! That's pretty much exactly what I'm talking about. The Raptor gets a little more coverage per gallon (and at a lower price), but I think the formulation is similar. The Durabak seems to have proven longevity, though, so I might look at that as well.

Thanks all for the input!

I used the bedliner product from Southern Polyurethanes on my Jeep a few years ago. Great stuff and inexpensive relative to the other players. I tinted it to the color I wanted and it worked well. Give Barry a call there and bend his ear about application to concrete. I'm pretty certain it would work fine.

I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. The same coating they spray in the truck beds is the same stuff we spray on cement. As with anything prep is key so you would still need to diamond grind the floor.

At work we use to mix silica sand with epoxy paint. Cheap and worked well for a non slip flooring.

I used this http://www.nonslipcoating.com/concrete.htm on a truck bed QUOTE]

I also did the same thing almost 9 years ago on the truck as my signature on the left. Frame, inside bed, springs, etc and it is holding up perfect. I had almost forgot about doing that. A few weeks back I pressure washed it and shot the entire bottom side with foam armor all and it looks like new, no chips, etc but keep in mind no abuse except inside bed and that is minimum abuse. I would only find out about UV in the formula sold today. My truck bed is faded a little since new.
