Bedliner vs chip guard on a work surface

So I just picked up the red harbor freight tool cart. For as little as I'll use it, it's quality is adequate and there's no way I was springing for a snapon or other higher end model. HOWEVER, I have OCD and like my things to match when they're all parked in the garage next to each other LOL. I am planning to paint it before i assemble it to match my Snapon Master Series special edition box, and put snapon emblems on it. I got some gunmetal grey paint made to match my special edition box at the local auto body supply store, scored some emblems on eBay, and now I want to spray the top work surface with some sort of protective material similar to Snapon's armor edge. Looking for opinions on chip guard vs bedliner for chip resistance, solvent resistance, and stain resistance.

Can you post a pic of the gunmetal colour? Don't believe I've seen a snap on box that colour yet.

I'll post one up tomorrow. The only pic I have on my phone is from 3 phones ago and looks like hell lol. I'll be at the shop tomorrow so I'll be sure to snap a nicer pic. Mine is actually a special edition from I believe 2011 they only made a couple hundred of them.
