greetings GJ,
i have a 16' wide garage door that is insulated - 2" aluminum with white foam inside. i seldom open the door and hope to further insulate if for summer and winter with 2" 4x8' foam board.
i do loose heat via the door in the winter and probably gather heat through it in the summer
my local lowes has this variety of foam board paneling.

for lack of a better solution i intend to tape four 4x8' sheets to the interior garage door... i need all the insulation factor i can get for my 24x24' garage. i've already insulated the walls and ceiling and was able to keep the interior during a very hot summer about 80 degrees with a small window air conditioner - all windows are new and double paned. i've since added a large smart tv with 5.1 surround sound speakers i hope the new insulation will do double duty as a sound barrier. finally i do not wish to permanently attach these insulation panels as i may need to access the interior of the garage at some future date. however in all practical purposes this garage is a single room studio at this time with no car - or other - ingress needed.
i'm posting here to ask if anyone has preformed this type of job before and may be able to advise as to the method of taping or attaching the panels and if there might be a better brand or panel choice.
