My father had service stations when I was a kid. I remember Beeline gas stations here in salt lake city. The gas came from a refinery in north salt lake. Dad always said it was "dirty" gas, not as refined as our sinclair. There were several other long-gone stations like husky and cowboy oil that all went under late 60's early 70's here in salt lake. I wish i could remember, but I was very young.

My father also had a Beeline Service Station back in the early 60’s in Walla Walla, Washington!
By the mid-60’s, Beeline-Frontier had over 700 stations in over 13 Western States!
He branded with them in 1961, but in 1968 Beeline was bought out by Husky Oil, so he rebranded with Husky Oil until 1984, when Husky was bought out by Marathon Oil!
My Dad had always owned the property and building, so he decided to go independent in 1984, which was one of the best things he ever did, along with always operating as an “Old School” Full Service 6-bay Automotive Repair Service as well! Not just fuel!
He has, and continues to operate as “Beeline Auto Center” at this same location since 1958, making him the longest continuously operating full-service, service station at the same location, and under the same family management, of any other like service station in the Pacific Northwest, and probably one of the oldest in the nation under that status!
Since 2017, we have expanded both in size, sales and employees, and have recorded record sales and profits every year since. And 2021 is on track to easily continue breaking those prior records!
Can hardly get onto the property for parking! Even our upper overflow parking is full, and employees are parking off site!
The repair shop is regularly booked out over three and a half weeks
When you live in a rural area, where everybody knows everybody, and maintain a long tradition for top rate techs, and customer fairness, the only thing holding you back is…..more parking!
Needless to say, I’m loving carrying on, not only this families tradition, but this industry’s tradition as well!
Who says the old ways are history!
