I can't believe that's all you bought. Low on cash? I had to go back with my trailer to get my haul.

Did you go back a second time?

All that SK goodness.
Ya done well!

Let's see yours Mickey. Your haul, that is.

Hardly worth posting, a few more Craftsman speeder ratchets, 2 sets (1/4, 3/8 & 1/2) Craftsman Stainless Ratchets, 4 sets of NOS Craftsman stainless wrench sets, a boat load of S-K, Snap-On, Channellock, Matco (Bonney), dozens of Bonney full polish wrench sets, 6 baby Wilton vises, an 8" and 6" Wilton Cadet bullet (NOS of course), KR series tool box, a bunch of NOS Knipex junk, 2 Atlas lathes, an NOS Craftsman Drill press from the 50's, a Craftsman wall cabinet full of the original tools (NOS of course) and a set of Pittsburgh wrenches (full polish, sweet).

My haul was no where near as big as Jim's.

Nice score. Were the prices in "you ****" territory or typical estate sale prices??

Where was the sale? Totally picked over now?

Picked over and very far from you, the sale actually ended at 2 pm today.

From seeing a lot of the deals people get here Chicago is higher priced, don't know why, the state has high unemployment and tons of tools. Seems like in the last year or so the prices at estate sales have gone up quite a bit, the deals are found by knowing what will sell for a good profit on flea-bay to cover your habit, time and petrol.

One thing I find amusing at some of sales is that all the "medium size" wrenches are say $3 ~ $4 (arbitrary) and it's the same price whether it's a Snap-On or an crappy Asian wrench. Of course plenty of the people putting on the sales are aware of Snap-On, price them way to high and they're not all that common around here at estate sales. I did go to a sale where the screwdrivers were $4 - $5 each and the ratchets were $2-$3, I bought a lot of ratchets.

Around here Snap On is always priced high at estate sales, garage sales not so much. But, Craftsman is always priced higher than anything but SO. For instance, a 9/16 Cman combo might be $5 while the same wrench in a Proto, Wright or SK $1 or $2. "Oh that's a Craftsman - they are guaranteed for life."
