When you guys go into an estate sale, do you just start loading up your boxes or bags and then separate out what you want later before checkout? Or do you cruise the sale to decide what to pick?

When I happen on one of these rare deals I start loading as much as I can carry.

Depends. If it is crowded and there is loads of good stuff you can't hesitate. If they are empty of people and soso I look it over first. If I see something I want I always grab it and carry. I can always put it down later. I am sure a sale like this was crowded with a good waiting line.

Ok,so I went back at 2:30pm for a another trip....got some GREAT deals....like 60-lbs of NOS Armstrong wrenches for $20.00.........

I know I'm going to sound like I'm just jealous but thanks for not sharing the wealth and forgetting to mention it was a two day sale. BTW Lincoln Square on the north side of chicago isn't exactly a thousand miles away from oak lawn.

It was a well advertised sale and there was no shortage of buyers. There were atleast 4-5 other board members there that I can think of.

80+ people were waiting to get in Friday,and 30+ were waiting Saturday morning,and it was still swamped with people when I came back at 2:30.

So I have (160) 5/8" Armstrong combination wrenches,and (80) 13mm Armstrong combination wrenches...WTF...hahahaha

I don't want to drag this out so this will be my last post on this subject. I know I'm new to this forum and probably a bit naive I guess but I thought this forum was filled with guys who love tools and can trust each other at least as far as one can on a social networking site. But let's face it we use the honor system every time we buy or sell something from the classifieds section. Does the honor system only extend as far as the classifieds section? As for my original question, I could have lived with a simple "i'd rather not say" or even a "go f*ck yourself" I could live with. But outright deception is another thing. Again I might be naive but after the response I received I did no research on the sale because I thought I could believe it, but I guess that was the goal. I know ultimately it was my fault for not doing my own research. Sorry for the rant but I hope some of you guys see my point.

I didn't know you were in Chicago, the Midwest is a large area. Hell, you were a lot closer to the sale than I was but FoMoCoPower swore me to secrecy, said he didn't want any other weasels (his words) from GJ at the sale.* Best sale ever.**

Yet you're dragging it out.

There was no "outright deception", plenty of sarcasm though. No one was trying to hide the sale from you, it was advertised on the internet and one more (or 10 more) person attending wouldn't of made a difference to us. Personally I don't post the places I'm going to go to or what I'm specifically looking for but if you shot me or FoMoCoPower a PM we could have told you exactly where it was and FoMoCoPower may have even swung buy to pick you up with a breakfast sandwich.***
