Been lurking here for a while Central PA

I started lurking here when I bought my house about 7 years ago. When looking for a house a garage and 5 acres was the requirement. That didn't fit the budget so I ended up with a house and no garage on 8 acres. I figured in a year I would have a shop built....
Well here it is 7 years later and just ordered my 30x40 pole barn which will be built in October. It is mainly going to support my motorcycle problem, endure bikes new and vintage.
I also will be restoring my Grandfathers 61 Willy's Jeep that my Uncle started restoring but is unable to complete.
I am having the barn built and floor poured and I will finish the inside myself. I'm pretty handy, versed in electrical, plumbing, welding and mechanical. I worked as a service tech on wheel blast machines for 15 years until 5 years ago when my current employer turned me into a liar and moved me into sales
I have found lots of useful information here that will be applied to my new build.
Just Figured I would say Hello.

Wimpy: first post in 7 years of actual membership. that is hard to say that your employer turned you into a liar and admitting it to a large group. i was in sales for 30 years and can't say i lied, but i was selling Real Estate and it was my own business. when you were so close to retirement that's a tough spot you were in so happy to hear you are retired now and living the life you choose to.

happy to hear you retired and now have your build ready. any chance you can post up a few pictures? if you use the paperclip above where we post sort of like attaching a picture to an email.

don't make yourself a stranger and post more often even if it's just to say "well done" when you read a thread that teaches you something.

I'm far from retired! About 25 years to go.
I say they turned me in to a liar in jest. The service techs I used to work side by side with came up with that. My strength as a salesman is the ability to tell the truth as I truly understand the product that I am selling and understand the customers needs.

The type of sales I do is really different than probably any other type of sales. Customers tend to be a tough bunch of guys who started in the maintenance shops of Foundries, Forges and Steel Mills. These guys like to break stones, so having a come back line like that generally gets respect from them.
I will work on getting some pictures up right now its just the land that I have cleared over the last few years.
