I finally got started on my 30x48x10 Strat o Span building this weekend. Had my concrete (6") poured since May but been too busy at work to start. My son and I got this far. https://picasaweb.google.com/fritz199090/MainSection11215

I used my engine A frame for scaffolding and it worked great. There are some pics of the adjustable height mounts for the cross bars. Just loosen and move to the desired height.

I do have a question about putting in "X" braces for the rafters. The building didn't come with them for the rafters but the guy that poured my pad said he would put them in. If I do should I put an "X" brace on each half of the rafters or put one square in the middle with the ends on each side of the peak?

Been drooling over all you guys' garages all summer and now I am making progress.

Regards, Jeff

Yes that is where I purchased it. Was a smooth transaction.

I have had the building since January. Had a very wet Spring so I couldn't get ground ready for the concrete until late April.

Most buildings are braced. This is a small building and there are some manufacturers that use the sheeting for shear value. If that is the case you will want to square up the building with rachet straps or come a longs before you install the sheeting. Look over the plan notes very carefully for info. If you still aren't sure call the company to clarify.

With the 6" concrete and now steel frame building, you've got all the bones for very nice shop !!

Does your plan include a lift in future ?? Hope your roof is tall enough !! ;)

Congrats and keep the Pics coming.

Yes I am planning on a lift, 2 or 4 is yet to be determined. I have 13' to the bottom of the top 2 purlins, should be enough room for my junk to clear.

Finished putting in the screws for the knee braces today. The center section is now done. Going to start on the solid end wall tomorrow and hope to have it up this weekend. Work seems to be getting in the way.

Thanks for all the well wishes!

Well my son and I put up the end wall on Friday and Saturday. Slow progress with work gettin' in the way. Only took 3 pics, they are the last three in the album. It was late last night when we finished and I remembered to get the camera. https://picasaweb.google.com/fritz199090/MainSection11215

Won't get much done next weekend, we have to be out of town. :(
