IT all started on accident the local fire dept renovated their kitchen and I ended up with 23 oak cabinets for $200 what a deal. I've spent $400 on metal sheets and paint $200 on wood and a door. Next project is the floor with 2 part epoxy est cost $200 and last but not least a Little flat screen 32" with hinge for the corner est cost $550. Total cost less than $1600.00 thought that was pretty good. My wife and kids think I'm crazy.

$1,600. That's maybe fancy imported beer, but still beer. ;)

It looks nice.

Next up, the shed for the lawnmower and all that stuff to the right.

Turned out really nice

Love the black and diamond plate.

+1 I had that the same thought for the kitchen cabinets I have in my garage, but wasn't sure how they would turn out. Looks great to me... especially for the cost. If I come across a nice set of kitchen cabinets instead of buying new ones, I might just do the same thing. Nice work.

Jack see you tiled your garage was thinking of that but was worried about cost and if it was durable enough.

Hey, nice way to stretch a few bucks into a great looking garage! Yeah, my wife and kids thought I was crazy too when mine started, probably still do. Seriously though, really like the diamond plate, I'm a big fan of it too.

. . . and Auzivision - dude you're making me thirsty with that fridge shot.

Oh yeah, here comes another thread "Let's see what's in the frig inside your garage." All in fun man! :)

Looks really good. I was thinking of doing something similar for doors on the workbench I'm building. How did you finish the edges of the checkerplate? Any chance of some detail pics of the edges and inside?

used a 2" 90 degree die grinder with auto body pads and just took off the spurs really fine grinding. The hard part was the table saw. Found that a fine cut cabinet blade worked best and didn't curl the alumi. and left a clean cut. Didn't paint the inside of the cabinets still have the fire dept alert list thought that was neat. The dimond plate is 16ga. and affixed with 3m tape for auto trim, it never lets go and is hell to get off.
