Beer & pop can openers for someone with low hand strength?

I know it's a bit of a silly question.. Any suggestions?

Using a flathead screwdriver to pry up the pull tab to avoid breaking a fingernail isn't the safest IMO. The wife needs an anniversary present, so I figured I'd splurge..

And this type is just awful to use and is always getting misplaced.

If it’s a can with a pull tab you could try something like this

Do you have a blacksmith shop nearby? I had one made that is ergonomically excellent.

My wife and son have a neurological condition that causes loss of hand strength. We have a Pampered Chef bottle and can opener that is useful.

You can open twist off soda bottles, pop of beer lids and pop-top cans (there is a slot on the end with the round part for opening soda bottles).

The only challenge is that PC discontinued the item - but the OEM might still be making them under their own name.

Cheers

Jim

The loop is to hang it on a string, but a bottle cap opener would be a great idea. Mine was handmade, so the tolerances are kind of loose. I like it because it is heavy and pops the caps right off. They told me I would have to radius the end to catch the lip of the round bottle cap better. 30 seconds with a Dremel took care of it.

Flattening a short piece of copper pipe works well. It's been many years since I sat in bars but when I did, most of the female bartenders were equipped with this all but free device.

What about just one of the freebie pocket screw drivers the tool trucks give out. My dad always would use them opening his soda or beer while at work mainly due to the fact he had rubber glove on and they would cut the finger tip open if used his finger sometimes. Plus he always had one in his pocket at work.
