That would be cool. When I went to Japan they had beer vending machines in the train stations. You could get the regular and big cans, and there was also a big jug you could get for the equivalent of about $20.

Fraternity use to have a beer machine when I was in college. Was actually cheaper to load it with beer purchased in NH than it was to load it with soda!

They are a conversation piece, and they put the freeloaders into pay mode.

Sadly; they can be noisy, take up a bunch of space, and consume power.

...not sure why no one has snapped it up.

This may be one reason...

I did a very quick search and eBay has this one languishing with a Buy It Now of $500. One could probably pay an artist to paint the eBay one up like the $3K one and still be at considerable (50% or more?) discount to the $3000 one.

Ignoring the $3K price, it is a handsome conversion.

Just a personal preference but if I was going to have something like that I would rather have a nice vintage Coca-Cola machine in original condition and just put beer in that. Having the beer logos and graphics wouldn't do anything for me. But then again I just like old stuff in general.

I rescued one of these, a 1936 Coke cooler a few years ago but I haven't decided what to do with it yet. I've thought about just restoring it back to original, or maybe making it a refrigerated unit, or just using it for a tool/storage box in the garage.

Tool chest on the left. This is what we use in the garage. Little low on actual beer today but you get the idea.

Here's mine! The Ideal 55 slider for bottles and the LaCrosse for cans. I think the "cool" factor outweighs the electricity cost to operate them.

I'm with Jim on this one. Way to cool to worry about a few bucks extra for power.

In the late 70s early 80s the local country club had a cola machine with beer.

They had trouble keeping kids out of it. Then the drinking age rose and they gave up.

Used to haul grain to a small privately owned elevator. Outside the scale house was an old Pepsi machine, with one selection marked "out of order"
Selecting that one would deliver an ice cold Old Milwaukee!!!

Best regards,

Scott

I have this exact machine. It works extremely well for longnecks but does **** up a lot of electricity. I only fill it and power it up when I am having friends over and unplug it once it is empty.:)

We used to have an "out of order" slot filled with beer in the Coke machine at one of the gas stations...

Back in the 80's, the machine at a local garage used to have the same setup, only with Utica Club.
