I guess my initial try at humour on this forum was ill-perceived, I'll have to adapt my sarcasm for this tough crowd.

Humour and sarcasm are two different things. Which one was it supposed to be? Personally, I think you have a sharp sense of humour which is merely unappreciated. (Humour or sarcasm? )
