Beige Garage Floors - Looking For Example Picts

Almost at the point of my garage updating when I need to choose one or more colors. My cabinets are
Matco cobalt blue
Newage putty gray & black
Gladiator Chrome

I had originally considered a dark blue-black with gray putty tile shown at the head of my garage redo thread. But since then decided on VCT instead of porcelain. Then the above cabinets arrived, leading to other color choices.

Right now I have at the top of my list true solid blue shown in the attachment. The entire three car garage in the blue. It would look good with the cabinets, my three Harley motorcycles (tangerine, red & black, copper & black), and my Polar Silver Porsche. The blue would provide a color pop to the beige walls and ceiling, and neutral colored cabinets.

But then I am also thinking beige checkered which would integrate with the rest of the house, and the focus would be on my vehicles and Matco

The dominant colors of my house are earth tones, especially beiges, dark brown, and black.

The attachment shows the tile in the master bath shower. Two shades of beige, with the tile at an angle to the parallel lines of the walls.

I would like to see images of garage floors that are solid blue, and also beige - solid or patterned.

Thanks. I have followed your thread. Beautiful garage! Very NICE Porsche.

The green provides the color "pop" and your beige floor the neutral calming influence. both of which make for the black Porsche to stand out without competing.

In contrast, my cabinets are neutral, with cobalt blue Matco. My Porsche is Polar Silver. And my Harleys range from copper, tangerine, red, black. So in context with the stuff that will be sharing the floor in my garage, uniform beige tile parallel to the walls might be too boring.

if I were to select beige, my bias would be toward the two tone diamond look of post #2 or #3 above. VCT color choices are provided in the attachment from Armstrong's web page here.

I did beige/white checkered in the garage. It is Racedeck, but shouldnt look too different than VCT would.

Thank you for the examples. I will show to wife. The benefit of beige is that the focus is on the cabinets as with Jack Olsen's green cabinets, and with the blue car in dlc's photo above. Blue car looks so small. A Miata? Is that a "real" car?

DIY porcelain can be achieved for less than $1/sq ft. I think that is how much Jack spent on his garage flooring. His tile is Ceramic but it is not impossible to get porcelain for the same price. Is $1 too high?

There is a niece Deltile beige at HomeDepot for $98 SF. Has a "resilience" factor of III, good for hallways and bedrooms. Wife has tiled multiple 1000s of SF in various rental properties and wants level IV if tile. Advantage is VCT for ease of installation, price, and impact resistance.

Thank you for all your posts of examples, porcelain and VCT. Right now, the household choice is VCT, two beiges in a diamond pattern as in attachment. Then likely a coat of clear epoxy.

I would go a few darker shades of beige than the cabinets for contrast, those look great btw. I really like those cabinets.

important to my wife - the household chief tiler - is

• Grade 1, porcelain tile for floor, wall and countertop use
• P.E.I. Rating IV has high resistance to abrasion and is suitable for heavy-duty residential and commercial floor installations, such as entrances, commercial kitchens, hotels and exhibition and sales rooms with some dirt conditions
• Impervious tile has water absorption of less than 0.5% for indoor or outdoor use and is frost proof
• Slip-resistance/Coefficient of Friction rating of .60 wet is skid resistant for indoor and outdoor use and is required for commercial applications to meet or exceed ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Guidelines
• Frost resistant for indoor or outdoor applications

Much of the lower priced tile is absent one or mor of the above.

IMHO, if you are going with VCT, make it a dark color. VCT is durable and looks great, but even sealed it stains somewhat unless you seal it with epoxy, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Were it me, I would go with porcelain tile. It won't stain and is more durable than VCT by far, plus it doesn't cost much more at all. Oh, and beige is not an issue.

WIFE and i have decided on beige and black checker pattern at the back of the garage near the Newage cabinets with the counter. Perhaps a 90 SF area. The remainder in blue. Attached are images of the VCT color chips.
