I joined a couple weeks ago and I forgot to introduce myself. Well I am currently recently retired in Washington state and likely to spend a lot longer here. I have a nice plot of land in the Northwestern corner of the state and have been at this location for the last nineteen years. I have 2 detached garages with my manufactured home.

One garage is a 20 year old steel pole building 24 X 48 feet this building was on the property when I bought it and it houses my hobby car a 1966 Ford Falcon, my pickup truck, my tractor and lawn tractor. The 2nd is on the opposite side of my home and is a monitor style garage 36 X 38 foot long which houses my 5th wheel trailer and 2 newer cars. This building I had built 8 years ago as I wanted to get my 5th wheel trailer into a dry storage instead of fussing with the weather we get here.

I have a car port that I had built 4 years ago that is between the home and the steel pole building. The way I found this site is I was wanted to clean out my steel pole building and was looking at getting a new tool chest to consolidate all my tools in to one location. I was doing the research and found this site through a Google search.

IMy name is Michael and just thought of saying howdy

Super nice setup, not many folks have more than one garage. Post up some pics of the Falcon, I'm sure you will find a few more Falcon fans here. There are lots of tool box threads, so search and ye will find a lot of discussion. Welcome aboard.

Michael: welcome from another PNW member that really likes GJ and it's members.

looks like you have all the shop space i need so if you get tired of the country living give me a shout and my city rambler with a 2 car garage and sound view could go up for sale.

post up pictures of your cool stuff you mentioned if you like or feel free to post on the other threads the bits and pieces of your acquired gems as you have time to.

cheers and welcome!!

Welcome Michael! How long did you have to wait for the rains to stop and partly cloudy day to appear to take those pictures? Just kidding - those are the stories we "back East" hear about your neck of the woods. Glad to hear from you and definitely post some pics of the Falcon.

lI had the Falcon for the 2 years and if you notice the license plates on it from Iowa and the year is 1966. My younger brother found these plates in Clear Lake, Iowa a year ago. I trailer the car to car shows and on my car trailer painted John Deere green with yellow wheel covers. I am a transplant to this part of the country and worked for Boeing for the last 29 years until I retired last month. Before that I was in the Air Force for 13 years and then did the Air Force Reserve for another 12 years.

The Falcon is unrestored and original except the original straight six engine has been rebuilt with harden seats to accept unleaded gas. I normally run only three to four gallons of gas at time and start and run the car every 2-3 weeks and allow the car to fully warm up. Since I have the title but the car is registered to drive. I just drive it on the private dead end road that I live on and not more then 20-30 mph. Funny story with the Falcon. Last month I went to start it and it would not start. So I go and troubleshoot it. It had spark. hum, the gas gauge reads full, I check the distributor, Oh the rotor is broken. I replace it. Still no run I look at the gas gauge and it says 3/4 of a tank of gas. I pull the fuel at the fuel pump hummmm no fuel on the inlet, HUmmmm I get the gas can and put in five gallons. The car starts. HUUUMMMMM never trust a 51 year old gas gauge. Fords were known to inaccurate fuel gauges, The gauge right now says it full and it might have 2 gallons in the tank .

Forgot to include the car trailer. I use this and it does get some attention. I bought the trailer to replace a old single axle trailer that was having issues that was 30 years old and not strong enough to haul my tractor. I barely carried my Falcon.

I was going to mow the yard today NOT it has rained from 7:30 this morning until now at 10:00 P.M.

Neighbor is rebuilding a fire damaged home and the roofing crew was on the roof putting on the shingles during the lighter rain earlier in the day. 2900 square foot home now has all new thrusses and the home was stripped down to the studs inside.

Mike: how are you liking Garage Journal after 6 months of being a member? got any questions or special threads you'd like to mention?

cheers and hope it's not raining up in the banana belt as it's pouring here in South Seattle now. we're also getting 20+ mph winds so wondering if your area gets those or are you sheltered by the Olympics?
